Kelly Tyrrell

 

Gulf Coast Music Therapy, founded in 2006, is owned and operated by Virginia Bibler.  Virginia is a graduate of The Florida State University where she received a Bachelors Degree in Music Therapy.  She holds the credentials MT-BC, Music Therapist Board Certified, which certifies her to practice Music Therapy throughout the United States.  In June 2008, Virginia also became nationally certified as a NICU Music Therapist after receiving specialized training in implementing Music Therapy programs in Neonatal Intensive Care Units and providing Music Therapy to premature infants.  In addition, she has recently completed one third of the coursework toward a Hospice and Palliative Care Music Therapy (HPMT) certification.

Virginia began her study of Music Therapy in Special Education in 2002 and has over 7 years experience in this field.  She has devoted the past 6 years to developing Music Therapy programs in Bradenton and Sarasota for children with disabilities.  GCMT currently provides services to numerous public and private schools, local organizations, and also offers private sessions for individuals with disabilities.  In addition, GCMT has developed Music Therapy programs in geriatric and medical settings and is the sole provider of Music Therapy for Tidewell Hospice in Manatee, Sarasota, Charlotte, and Desoto counties.

Kelly Tyrrell recently joined GCMT in May 2011.  She is originally from Clifton Park, NY but joins us most recently from Fort Pierce, Fl where she finished her clinical training at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center.  Kelly received her Bachelors Degree from Appalachian State Univeristy in Boone, North Carolina.   Kelly holds the credentials MT-BC, certifying her to practice Music Therapy, and has also completed the specialized training further certifying her as a NICU Music Therapist (NICU-MT).
