Gulf Coast Music Therapy is owned and operated by Virginia Bibler. Virginia is a graduate of The Florida State University where she recieved a Bachelors Degree in Music Therapy. She holds the credentials MT-BC, Music Therapist Board Certified, which certifies her to practice Music Therapy throughout the United States. In June 2008, Virginia also became nationally certified as a NICU Music Therapist after receiving specialized training in implementing Music Therapy programs in Neonatal Intensive Care Units and providing Music Therapy to premature infants.
Virginia began her study of Music Therapy in Special Education in 2002 and has over 5 years experience in this field. She has devoted the past 3 years to developing Music Therapy programs in Bradenton and Sarasota for children with disabilities. GCMT currently provides services to numerous public and private schools, local organizations, and also offers private sessions for individuals with disabilities. In addition, GCMT has developed Music Therapy programs in geriatric and medical settings.
Carolyn Keenan joined GCMT in August 2008. She moved to Florida from Rochester, NY where she was practicing Music Therapy in public schools and with private home-based clients. Carolyn received her Bachelors Degree from the Conservatory of Music at Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio and completed a music therapy intership program in Albany, NY. Carolyn is also a Board Certified Music Therapist, MT-BC, and has extensive experience in the special education field.
